FAQs
How do I become a KHIMA member and what is the cost?

You are automatically a member of KHIMA if you are a member of AHIMA and reside in Kentucky or choose Kentucky as your designated state association. Go to the AHIMA website to Join AHIMA. Or, Update Your Member Profile if you are an AHIMA member residing out of state and would like to choose Kentucky as your state association.

KHIMA membership is FREE - no additional state dues apply once you are an AHIMA member. Note that you cannot just join KHIMA - you must be active AHIMA member.

How do I update my email and/or mailing address with KHIMA?

Please do not send your updates to KHIMA. KHIMA uses the AHIMA member database so no separate KHIMA member database is maintained. Update Your Member Profile on AHIMA's website, and your member information will be automatically updated with KHIMA.

I am a KHIMA member but am not receiving any emails from KHIMA.

Ensure that your email address is correct and that the appropriate Communication Preferences in your a href="http://imis.ahima.org/Source/Security/Member-Logon.cfm" target="_blank">Update Your Member Profile are checked under the 'CSA Selections' group. If everything is correct and you are still not receiving emails, your system may be blocking them and you may want to check your security settings to allow emails from www.KHIMA.org.

I am interested in local meetings, how can I become involved?

Visit the Regional Association section of our website to view the associations in your area. Note that regional association membership is separate from KHIMA membership and if there is not an active association located in your region, you are encouraged to join the region of your choice.

Where can I find help if I have a professional practice issue that I need answered?

The Kentucky CoP is a good resource where you can post your question and find solutions from your peers.

AHIMA also has wonderful resources in their Body of Knowledge .

Who do I contact if I am interested in volunteering on the KHIMA Board?

Most Board assignments for project work are made prior to the start of the association year. Contact Us if you are interested in volunteering, and we will keep your name for when an open slot becomes available.
